The Process Art approach encourages children to focus on the creative journey rather than the final product. Children use a wide range of materials and techniques to let their creative juices flow freely. This helps children find their voice and explore their emotions in a safe, healthy, and fun way.
Recently, Edward Street and four partner preschools created a Process Art program for children who have experienced trauma and often struggle to express their feelings. During the program, preschoolers created many marvelous pieces of art — and they had a lot to say about the amazing works that they produced!
Attend Edward Street's 5th annual Children's Art Show to see their masterpieces and get a glimpse into their thoughts and perspectives. Perhaps you'll be inspired to try Process Art for yourself!
