The Governance Council on Children, Youth, and Families takes shape to address youth violence and the underlying factors that contribute to the issue. Laurie Ross, from Clark University, Eric Batista, Worcester City Manager, and Eve Gilmore, Edward Street, share the group's origin and importance to the city.

"It's a broad cross section of folks who are highly invested in getting the best start for the children in their life," noted Eve Gilmore, Chair of the Together of Kids Coalition and CEO of Edward Street. The Governance Council will "create equitable policies and systems that work together to promote health, safety, healing and social emotional well-being for all children, youth and families in Worcester".

The Governance Council joins The Youth Violence Prevention Network, Together for Kids Coalition, and Coalition for Healthy Greater Worcester.
