For over a decade, Kim Davenport has inspired collaboration, innovation, and progress across Worcester’s early education and care landscape. She has been an integral part of Edward Street as Vice President of Initiatives & Aligned Programs, leveraging her deep understanding of Worcester’s unique fabric to champion the needs of children, families, and educators. The Board is pleased to announce her hire as their Chief Executive Officer, commencing January 6, 2025.

Kim’s work with three Worcester Public School Superintendents and their leadership teams has propelled initiatives in preschool and special education, fostering collaboration and driving meaningful change. Under her leadership, Edward Street spearheaded the development of a community-wide framework for early learning and facilitated a cross-sector plan to expand access to high-quality preschool opportunities. She created the Worcester Reads’ All-America City application, spotlighting the city’s dedication to fostering early literacy. Kim’s leadership extends to state-level advisory committees with the Departments of Early Education & Care and Elementary & Secondary Education, as well as leadership on The Early Childhood Agenda, a statewide initiative devoted to improving the lives of young children in Massachusetts.
Kim says “I am honored and thrilled to lead Edward Street into its next chapter. The first five years in a child’s life is the shortest time frame with the most profound and lasting impact. We must get it right for them. I look forward to expanding Edward Street’s collaboration with the community and state leaders to ensure all children have what they need to thrive.”
